Prince Harry Meets Veterans As He Commemorates D-Day's 75th Anniversary
Prince Harry stepped out on June 6, 2019 to mark the 75th anniversary of D-Day.
The Duke of Sussex helped veterans make poppies at the Royal Hospital in Chelsea, where he also attended the Founder's Day parade.
Harry's solo appearance comes the same week that Donald Trump was hosted by Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace for an official state visit.
Prince Harry welcomed his first baby-Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor-with wife Meghan Markle a month ago. And despite being an extremely busy new dad, Harry continues to prove that he takes his official duties very seriously, as he commemorates the 75th anniversary of D-Day.
Harry is attending the Founder's Day parade, which celebrates when King Charles II founded the Royal Hospital Chelsea in 1681. Harry will meet with six veterans there who took part in the Normandy beach landings on June 6, 1944, and who are now resident at the hospital.
As royal editor Rebecca English reported on Twitter, "While the focus of today’s #Dday75 commemorations age in Normandy, the Duke of Sussex is visiting the Royal Hospital Chelsea to review the Chelsea Pensioners at the annual Founder’s Day Parade. Six veterans from the Normandy Landings will be taking part."

The royal family has been hosting the American president this week for his first official state visit to the United Kingdom. While Prince Harry didn't publicly greet the Trumps upon their arrival, he did attend a royal luncheon for the American guests, and later put in an appearance the state banquet held at Buckingham Palace.
American Meghan Markle was absent from the festivities as she is currently on maternity leave.
