If we had a dollar for every time our dads said, “It’s time to go,” well, we’d have enough money to run our own presidential campaign.
But it turns out that we’re not the only ones getting dadded around here. Even former presidents sometimes feel dad wrath! Case in point? This footage of former President Bill Clinton getting dad-hustled by current President Barack Obama.
The duo were in Israel yesterday for the funeral of President Shimon Peres, at which they both made speeches. When it was time to go, Obama was ready to move, while Clinton, an infamous shmoozer, was taking his time saying his goodbyes.
“Bill, let’s go!”
That’s what Obama yells from the door of Air Force One over the drone of the airplane engine, which is basically the world leader equivalent of beeping the horn on his Honda Odyssey while you’re still upstairs getting ready. If you watch closely, you’ll see that Obama is using the patented dad clap to express urgency. Then he adds, for extra measure:
“Let’s go, I gotta get home.”
In this moment, we are all Bill Clinton.
