Predator 4 Now Has A Finished Script

It looks as though ‘Predator 4’ is one step closer…

According to screenwriter Fred Dekker, the upcoming ‘Predator’ sequel has now got a script… and it seems it’s recently been handed over to the studio.

“[Here’s] a character from the new screenplay we just turned in,” he revealed on Facebook. “Art by Angus Herndon, age 7.”

The update was accompanied by a rather cute drawing by the 7-year-old budding concept artist… but while this amusing update gave us a light-hearted glimpse into the process, it also confirmed that ‘Predator 4’ is getting ever closer.

And after years of silence, that’s quite a big update.

The upcoming ‘Predator’ sequel was announced way back in July 2014… and we’ve heard very little since. However, we do know that ‘Predator 4’ will be directed by Shane Black – a man who’s no stranger to the franchise after he played Hawkins in the original movie.

Brought onto the project to provide some oversight, he is also co-writing the script alongside Fred Dekker, who is perhaps best known for ‘The Monster Squad’ but also wrote and directed ‘Robocop 3’.

Originally reported to be a reboot to the ‘Predator’ series, the upcoming movie was later clarified as a straight sequel, in what Shane Black claimed would be an “inventive sequel’.

Whatever that means.

It’s also been confirmed that Robert Rodriguez – producer and mastermind behind the 2010 film ‘Predators’ – will not be involved in ‘Predator 4’… and as of June this year, Arnold Schwarzenegger had not been contacted about returning to the franchise.

But that’s about all we know so far.

Will ‘Predator 4’ continue the franchise, or will it ignore ‘Predators’?

For now, we’ll have to wait and see.
