Popular JEM halal food stall Sedap Wok to close its doors on 30 April

A truly wok-ing (shocking) moment. Sedap Wok, a prominent halal food stall located at JEM’s Koufu kopitiam, will be closing on 30 April 2022.

Recently, Koufu announced that they would be ending their lease with JEM, so all current tenants will have to relocate elsewhere. In their place, a new food court chain will be taking over the space.

Much to the dismay of the Sedap Wok team, they now have to search for a new location to continue operations. Still reeling from the shocking news, the team described it on social media as a “rude shock to all the tenants” and they are still “trying to digest what is going on”.

Thankfully, they had been receiving plenty of support from their customers through the form of calls and messages.

Having patronised Sedap Wok quite a few times before, I have to say that their food has never failed to impress me. Besides, what makes their stall really impressive would be their extensive menu— which offers everything ranging from zi char to halal BBQ. It does not stop there, as they even serve Indonesian, Western, and Asian cuisines!

Some of their crowd favourites include their massive Seafood Platter (S$24.90) which you can share with up to five people. Expect it to be packed to the brim with delectable seafood delicacies. This includes stingray sambal, black pepper prawns, spicy squid sambal among many others. Additionally, you could also cater the dish according to your spice tolerance.

Also, some of their popular dishes include BBQ Grouper (S$7.90) and Kari Mak Mak Noodle Pot (S$9.90), among many others.

Although we do not have much information about Sedap Wok’s future plans, we do hope to see them back soon.
