15 Oct – "Polis Evo 2", the most anticipated movie of the year, is set to open in cinemas nationwide next month.

What's more, the Astro Shaw, Surya Citra Media and BlackFlag-produced movie will also be released in neighbouring country, Indonesia.

"After the success of the first movie in 2015, our neighbouring countries have been taking note of it and through "Polis Evo 2", for the first time ever a movie we produced will be shown in Indonesia.

"The exact date for the release has not been confirmed but it will screen there in December," said Dato' Khairul Anwar Salleh, Vice President of Malay Language Business ASTRO, during the launch of "Polis Evo 2's" teaser poster at Gasket Alley, Petaling Jaya, recently.

Shaheizy Sam and Zizan Razak partner up again for a more action-packed sequel.

He added that following the success of "Hantu Kak Limah", another Astro Shaw-produced movie, his team would like to strengthen the momentum of audiences' faith in local movies by producing quality works that suit the audiences' taste.

Helmed by young directors Joel Soh and Andre Chiew, "Polis Evo 2" will be the final Astro Shaw movie for the year.

The movie will see lead actors Shaheizy Sam and Zizan Razak returning to reprise their roles as Inspector Khai and Inspector Sani.

This time they will be facing a bigger challenge, when a group of terrorists take over a village, holding the villagers hostage.

The sequel will feature a cast made up of talents from three countries: Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.

Aside from Sam and Zizan, other Malaysian cast members include Hairul Azreen, Syafie Naswip, Erra Fazira, Soffi Jikan, Dennis Yin, Hairue Othman and Rusdi Ramli.

Hasnul Rahmat, Jeff Catz and Fir Rahman are the Singaporean actors involved while the Indonesian cast includes Raline Shah, Mike Lucock and Tanta Ginting.

"Polis Evo 2" is hitting the big screens nationwide this 22 November.
