NEW PIX: Jon Bernthal looks deadly as The Punisher
If you like your heroes dark and brooding, there’s more of them coming your way on Netflix. We’re getting another look at The Punisher, with a series of promotional photos showcasing Frank Castle (The Walking Dead‘s Jon Bernthal) and his dark, brooding ways.
There’s also a short write up on Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), former paramour to one Matt Murdock, and Micro (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), ally to the Punisher
If you aren’t familiar with the comics, Frank Castle was originally a former Marine and Vietnam War veteran whose wife and children are gunned down by the mafia for witnessing a Mob-sanctioned murder. He then becomes a vigilante who wages a one-man war on the mafia, using any and all means necessary.
There have been a number of movie adaptations starring Dolph Lundgren, Thomas Jane and Ray Stevenson as the title character, but none of really stuck. Bernthal made his debut as The Punisher in the second season of Daredevil before being given his own spin-off series.

Frank Castle is haunted and hunted after the murder of his family and becomes a vigilante known in the criminal underworld as “the Punisher”, who aims to fight crime by any means necessary.
