Pink Responds to Claims She Was “Shading” Christina Aguilera in Viral “Lady Marmalade” TikTok

Pink is out here denying that she was “shading” Christina Aguilera amid viral comments she made during an interview with BuzzFeed—where she ranked 2001’s “Lady Marmalade” as her “least favorite” music video.

“It wasn’t very fun to make,” she said. “I’m all about fun, and it was, like, a lot of fuss. There were some personalities. Kim and Mya were nice!”

In response to everyone reading alllll the way into this, Pink tweeted, “Y’all are nuts Xtina had shit to do with who was on that song. If you don’t know by now—I’m not ‘shading’ someone by telling it over and over and over what actually happened. I’m zero percent interested in your fucking drama. If you haven’t noticed—I’m a little busy selling. And by selling—I mean tickets and albums and bake sales and shit.”

She then added for good measure, “Also—I kissed Xtina’s mouth. I don’t need to kiss her ass.”

Back in 2017, Pink told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that Xtina “swung on me in a club” but said they’ve since reconciled, saying, “She’s a really sweet person. We made up on The Voice. I hadn’t seen her in years and years and years. We became moms. We grew up. We hugged it out. It’s that simple. I feel so good about that.”

Xtina denied the altercation ever happened a couple of years later in 2019, telling Andy that Pink “could beat my ass” and that “I’ve seen her Behind the Music and I know she had some feelings or whatever about how the recording of ‘Lady Marmalade’ went down and all that. I know [during] the actual video, she intimidated me a lot because she was heckling me in the audience behind the director and I was like, ‘What’s going on?’ But that’s what she did back then. She’s a different person now.”
