PHOTOS: Tonkatsu chain Saboten opens third outlet in Tanjong Pagar

Tonkatsu chain Saboten opened its third outlet on level three of 100 AM Mall on Tuesday (13 Dec).

One of its menu highlights is the Mangalitsa Katsu, which uses meat from the rare Mangalitsa pig, sometimes referred to as a "woolly pig". While known to contain a lot of fat, it is still regarded as healthier than most pigs due to its low saturated fat content.

Lauded as the biggest tonkatsu chain in the world, Saboten has over 500 branches across Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Canada and Singapore.

Here, Saboten is part of PARCO'S Itadakimasu Japanese food cluster, which is also opening other Japanese eateries YAYOI, Nadai Fujisoba Ni Hachi, Ramen Keisuke Tori King and Numazu Uogashizushi at the same mall from 1 Dec.

Saboten’s first two Singapore outlets are located at 313@Somerset and Millenia Walk, and a fourth will be opened at Raffles City Shopping Centre in January.
