Photographer Misan Harriman Proves Sussexes' Maternity Pic Wasn't Photoshopped Amid False Accusations

Kate Middleton's photoshop scandal has people analyzing pretty much every image the royals have produced—and unfortunately, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's second pregnancy announcement has come under unwarranted scrutiny.

The portrait was taken by the couples' friend and professional photographer Misan Harriman, who has been falsely accused of making edits. Harriman has since hopped on Twitter to provide the original photo, in color.

"The original Jpeg without the black and White grade," he tweeted. I expect a full apology and retraction from @MailOnline @Telegraph @victoria_ward. No trees or meadows were moved or swapped, this is the image straight out of camera. Also that is a Jacaranda Tree, not a willow tree."

Harriman's tweet comes as royal biographer Angela Levin called the Sussexes "huge hypocrites" in The Sun and falsely alleged that “a tree was doctored in their photograph to create a special backdrop." These quotes were then picked up by The Daily Mail.

Harriman also gave a video statement, and spoke about a misquoted BBC interview he gave where he was asked a leading question about the tree behind Meghan and Harry.

"How that exchange could amount to me admitting to doctoring an image is insidious and really dangerous journalism," Harriman said. "Any mention of meadows and willow trees came out of the person doing the interview, not my mouth. I did my best to ignore it and focus on what I wanted to talk about. So to see an article, saying, as fact, that I did what I did not do, is extraordinary to me. And then to try and merge it with this current news cycle of what's happening is tragic to see."

Harriman added that the only thing changed on his photo was the black-and-white color grade.
