Penny Tai admits to struggle with vertigo

13 Nov - Penny Tai recently opened up about her struggle with vertigo, as she announced her upcoming Taipei Arena concert.

The singer, who appeared at the press conference for the concert, revealed that she had her first attack of vertigo while in quarantine three years ago, and was told by the doctors that it was caused by otolithiasis, an inner ear condition that occurs when calcium particles in the ear become dislodged and fall into the semicircular canals.

The condition can cause vertigo, dizziness, and balance issues, especially while changing positions like bending over or turning one's body in bed.

Despite having sought treatment, Penny said that the condition could not be cured. She was told by a doctor that, "If it happens once, it will happen a second, third, and fourth time." She also said that the treatment made her dizzy for a long time and even unable to walk, which troubled her greatly.

The singer said that she has now learned to overcome the situation in a more relaxed way. However, she may not be able to dance at her concert like she used to do.

Aside from the upcoming concert, which will mark her return to the venue after nine years, Penny also released her 14th album, "Twin Flame" at the press conference.

The album will be on sale beginning 14 November.
