Paulo Avelino stars in movie adaptation of "Ang Larawan"

30 Dec - It was revealed that actor Paulo Avelino is playing the lead role in the movie adaptation of the musical, "Ang Larawan".

As reported on ABS-CBN News, the actor plays the role of Tony Javier, a man who boards the house of sisters Candida and Paula (starring Joanna Ampil and Rachel Alejandro, respectively), who rented their house after their father, painter Lorenzo Marasigan, couldn't produce more artworks.

Although it was adapted from the musical, "Ang Larawan The Musical" itself is based on the play "A Portrait of the Artist as Filipino" by the award-winning Nick Joaquin.

In addition to Avelino, Ampil, and Alejandro, the movie also stars Robert Arevalo, Nonie Buencamino, Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo, and Sandino Martin, and features the original music of Ryan Cayabyab.

The Loy Arcenas movie is set to be released next year. It has also recently released its first trailer.
