Patrick Tse wins HK Critics' Best Actor for "Time"
19 Jan – Patrick Tse has recently won his first Hong Kong Film Critics Society awards' Best Actor accolade for his performance in the movie, "Time".
As reported on Mingpao, the 85-year-old actor, who played the role of a former contract killer in his twilight years, was elated over the good news, thanking the said organisation for the recognition. Aside from being a veteran actor of Hong Kong films, the star is also known as Nicholas Tse's father.
"I also have to thank everyone on and off screen in "Time". Director Tze Bun, screenwriter Ching Yi, and that silly producer Gordon Lam. I definitely would treat him to coffee at a six-star hotel," he said.
He also expressed interest to work with co-star Petrina Fung again, saying that the two had a lot of chemistry in the movie.
On the other hand, the film's producer Gordon Lam is the big winner, with his other movie, "Limbo" winning Best Film, and his screenplay for "Time" that he co-wrote with Ho Ching Yi winning Best Screenplay.
On the other hand, Cya Liu was named Best Actress for "Limbo", and late filmmaker Benny Chan posthumously won Best Director for "Raging Fire".
