Paris Hilton shuts down hurtful, negative comments about her baby’s appearance

Four days ago, Paris Hilton shared a sweet photo on Instagram of her holding her son, Phoenix, on her lap. Within minutes, people were questioning 8-month-old Phoenix’s appearance, health, and even making awful negative comments about what he looks like.

“My precious angel baby Phoenix’s first time in NYC,” she captioned shots of her and her baby boy, whom she shares with husband Carter Reum.

The comments section of her post was overwhelmingly filled with perfect strangers inquiring about the size of the baby’s head—some were concern-trolling while others were just plain cruel.

The proud, loving mom addressed the criticism on Monday.

“Living life in the spotlight, comments are inevitable,” Paris wrote on her Instagram Story on Oct. 23, “but targeting my child, or anyone else’s for that matter is unacceptable.”

“This hurts my heart more deeply than words can describe,” she continued. “I’ve worked hard to cultivate an environment that is all about love, respect, and acceptance, and I expect the same in return.”

She also said that she can’t win when it comes to sharing her life as a mom online.

“If I don’t post my baby, people assume I’m not a great mother,” she explained, “and if I do post him there are some people who are cruel and hateful. I’m a proud working mom and my baby is perfectly healthy, adorable and angelic.”

Fellow parents on TikTok were outraged at the cruel nature of the comments directed at an 8-month-old infant. In one video, a fan compiled the worst of the comments and asked the new mom to respond.

“There are some sick people in this world,” she wrote in the comments section of the TikTok video. “My angel is perfectly healthy. And yes, of course he has been to a doctor, he just has a large brain.”

In her story, Paris rose above the negativity by talking about how much she loves her son and how she prioritizes what really matters in life.

“Every day with him is a reminder of what truly matters,” she said. “It’s hard to fathom that there are people in this world who would target such innocence. I hope that people can treat one another with more kindness and empathy.”
