"Parasite" star Lee Sun-kyun leaves "No Way Out" amid investigation

25 Oct - Lee Sun-kyun is no longer a part of the upcoming Korean series, "No Way Out", amid investigations into allegations of drug abuse.

The actor, who was originally cast to play a detective in the drama, will be replaced by another, according to producer, Studio X+U in a statement.

"Following an unfortunate incident last week with Lee Sun-kyun, he expressed that it would take a considerable amount of time to sort out the current situation," the statement read. "The company reached an agreement with Lee's agency and respects the actor's position."

It also added that shooting will continue as scheduled, and that there will be no further delay.

While the issue with "No Way Out" has been sorted, Lee has two new movies, "Project Silence" and "Land of Heaven" awaiting theatrical release.

It was last week that the police announced that they are conducting an internal investigation against Lee as well as seven others on drug charges.
