According to reports, Paranormal Activity 7 has a new title and an official rating. Paramount had been working on a new Paranormal Activity film since June 2019, with a March 2021 theatrical date planned. However, the firm chose to distribute the seventh movie in the Paranormal Activity franchise solely on Paramount+. It is because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the launch of a new streaming service.

Producer Jason Blum had revealed that filming on Paranormal Activity 7 was completed in July 2021. Paramount affirmed that the picture would release before the end of 2021. The film will apparently release on Paramount+ in time for Halloween. It will be along with a feature documentary about the making of the picture. With October quickly approaching, it was expectant that news about the next Paranormal Activity film will release shortly. Now an official title has been announced.

Paranormal Activity 7 renames to Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin, according to the website Film Ratings. Like the previous installments in the franchise, the film is likely to get an R rating. Because of the violence, bloody imagery, and language throughout, the film has a rating of R.

The Paranormal Activity name standard allows for a subtitle. The previous four editions all had numbers at the end of their names. But Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones was intended to be a spin-off. It used a subtitle to set itself apart from the main series. The sequel, Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, incorporated The Marked Ones into the core series. The title Next of Kin alludes to the franchise’s passing of the baton, since the new spirit may be haunting a new family connected to the previous series.

With a rating and a new title in place, it’ll only be a matter of time before Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin gets a trailer and a release date. Four of the prior films debuted around a week and a half before Halloween. Thereby, implying that the film might debut on Paramount+ on October 22, 2021. However, the film isn’t relying on box office receipts and instead relies on viewers turning in. It may release on October 29, 2021, three days before Halloween. While this reduces the amount of time it has to be relevant to viewers. It may also make it a more popular ticket item, with people wanting to see it before or on Halloween night.

The release of a sequel to a popular horror franchise during Halloween weekend, available to consumers from the comfort of their own homes, might garner significant publicity to the streaming service and the picture, competing with Peacock’s Halloween Kills release.
