Paramount Film Vet Eben Davidson Moves To TV Division As SVP Development

Paramount Pictures’ Eben Davidson is moving from the film side to sister Paramount TV as SVP of Development.

Davidson, who most recently served SVP of Acquisitions and Development, Paramount Pictures, will lead the company’s foray into unscripted television and oversee the development of cross format content including scripted and live programming. The announcement was made by Amy Powell, President of Paramount Television.

“With the tremendous success of our Emmy nominated show Grease: Live, we are committed to exploring new opportunities for compelling unscripted and live television events,” said Powell. “Eben has been an integral part of the Paramount family and we’re thrilled to have him join our team. His diverse skill-set within development and acquisitions will aide Paramount TV’s global footprint as we push the boundaries of content across multiple platforms.”

Paramount TV’s slate includes the 10-time-Emmy-nominated Grease: Live with Fox; the Emmy- nominated Nickelodeon hit School of Rock, Bajillion Dollar Propertie$”with NBC’s digital streaming platform Seeso; Maniac a Cary Fukunaga-directed project starring Emma Stone and Jonah Hill and Thirteen Reasons Why, based on the New York Times bestselling YA book by Jay Asher and executive produced by Selena Gomez – both with Anonymous Content and ordered straight-to-series for Netflix. In addition, Paramount TV has Shooter, starring Ryan Philippe and Omar Epps airing fall 2016 on USA; crime drama Berlin Station, with Anonymous Content from New York Times best-selling spy novelist Olen Steinhauer set to premiere fall 2016 on EPIX; The Alienist also with Anonymous Content from Fukunaga, Eric Roth and Hossein Amini executive producing for TNT and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan with Platinum Dunes and Skydance from Carlton Cuse starring John Krasinski with Amazon.

Davidson first joined Paramount Pictures as an assistant, working his way up to Senior Vice President, Acquisitions and Production. He has worked on titles such as Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, Katy Perry: Part of Me and Jackass 3D, Oscar- nominated Charlie Kaufman & Duke Johnson directed Anomalisa, Richard Linklater’s Everybody Wants Some, as well as the upcoming Stephen Frears directed Florence Foster Jenkins, Denis Villeneuve’s Arrival, and Ben Hur.
