Papa John’s Jack-O-Lantern Pizzas Are Back Again This Year For A Limited Time

Update: October 18, 2021: Papa John's is back with one of our favorite Halloween traditions: Jack-O'-Lantern pizzas. There's never a bad time for pizza; in fact, I'd go as far as to say there's no better meal to enjoy before trick or treating to offset all that sweet candy.

The festive pizzas are thin crust, with a base that's shaped to look like a pumpkin. Pepperoni is placed around the edge and in the center to mimic a smiley face and black olives are added to the eyes to make the design even more clever.

Now through October 31 you can get the Jack-O'-Lantern pizza from participating Papa John's locations for a suggested price of $11. As a reminder, the pizzas don't come sliced so that the design looks its best when you open the box, so you might want to invest in a pizza cutter leading up to your Halloween celebrations.

Update: October 27, 2020: It's almost Halloween, and if your plan is to sit on the couch and watch something spooky, you're going to need a festive treat. It doesn't get much better than the return of the Jack-O'-Lantern from Papa John's.

Yes, this little guy is back for 2020. This base is a large, thin crust pie, and the smile and eyes are made from pepperoni and black olives. This pizza is normally meant to be split but, um, who doesn't love leftovers???

Original, October 28, 2019: Besides the candy and the costumes, Halloween is the best time of year to take advantage of all the food deals and specials from your favorite restaurants and chains. Thankfully, Papa John's is getting in on the spooky festivities with their jack-o'-lantern pizza.

The jack-o'-lantern pizza is a large, thin crust pie that uses toppings to make it look like a carved pumpkin. There's a pepperoni border and pepperoni smiley face on the pie, as well as black olives to resemble eyes. You see it, right?

According to the Papa John's website, the pizza arrives uncut and it is meant to feed a big group. "We cater to our customers by offering fun pizza specials that can feed an entire costume party's worth of people," they wrote on the site.

October is also National Pizza Month, which means you can celebrate the month and Halloween all at once. Papa John's has been counting down the days of National Pizza Month on their Twitter account, which really adds some urgency to the whole ordeal. I feel personally obligated to get one of their jack-o'-lantern pies before time is up.

The jack-o'-lantern pizza is priced at $11 and can be purchased at participating Papa John's locations through October 31, so there's still time to try this super cute Halloween pizza pie (...more than once!) before it's out with spooky season and in with the holiday season.
