By now, you would have heard of US colour authority Pantone’s announcement of 2021’s Pantone colours of the year. According to Pantone, “The combination of PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Gray + PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating [yellow] is aspirational and gives us hope.” How apt is that for the unprecedented times we are going through now?
But why should we even listen to them? For the uninitiated, according to & Company Blog, “To arrive at the selection each year, Pantone’s color experts at the Pantone Color Institute comb the world looking for new color influences. This can include the entertainment industry and films in production, traveling art collections and new artists, fashion, all areas of design, popular travel destinations, as well as new lifestyles, playstyles, and socio-economic conditions.”
So the answer is a resounding yes – this year, why not get out of your comfort zone and consider adding some greys and yellows to your wardrobe if you have yet to do so.
