Packer Reimagines a Classic Adidas Basketball Shoe From the 1990s for Its Next Collaboration

Adidas Basketball has been hot as of late, and for Packer’s latest collaboration, the renowned retailer has reimagined a court-ready sneaker from the 1990s.

Before month’s end, the New Jersey-based retailer will deliver its Intimidation Low collaboration. Packer and Adidas worked together to create two colorways of the shoe: “Cyan Blue” and “Anthracite.” The uppers feature gradient overlays, as well as reworked tooling that Packer explained is similar to its first Adidas Intimidation collaboration in spring 2023.

(Though the 2023 shoe has long sold out at retail, pairs of both the “Stone Gray” and “Tech Ink” colorways can be shopped now via StockX.)

For those who are unaware of the Adidas Intimidation history, the shoe debuted in 1999 and was designed by Shane Ward, a footwear industry veteran whose resume includes stops at G.H. Bass, Kangaroos and more. Ward has since returned to Adidas and is now the senior design director for Fear of God Athletics. The Intimidation was part of Adidas’ Feet You Wear line, which the brand created to mimic the natural curves and shape of a foot.

In terms of tech, the comfort-focused shoe features an external TPU cage that Packer said in a statement were “inspired by ligaments and tendons,” as well as Adiprene+ midsole cushioning.

The Packer x Adidas Intimidation Lows arrive Dec. 20 in store and at 11 a.m. ET via Packershoes.com. The shoes will retail for $140.
