Owen Cheung receives stitches for filming accident

17 Jan – Owen Cheung joked that he has become the Bad Luck King again, after he had to be sent to the hospital for a filming accident.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor was filming an action scene for his new TVB series "Death Hint" (working title) when a floor lamp fell down and knocked him on the head, causing injury to his left temple.

Speaking to the media about the incident, Owen said that he is doing fine and that he had his left brow stitched due to the injury.

"We were filming an action scene at the time and I had taken sufficient safety measures including putting on the protective guards. There was also a martial arts instructor present to guide me. The accident was really unexpected," he said.

Owen then added with a laugh, "I am back to being the Bad Luck King."

The Bad Luck King moniker came about back in 2019, after three of his dramas were shelved by TVB due to various issues, including the cheating scandal of his co-star Jacqueline Wong.

Owen also stated that he hopes to resume work soon so not to affect the progress of filming.
