'Outer Banks' Fans Need to Get Prepared for This Major Show News
As one of Netflix's most successful original series to date, Outer Banks is returned to the streaming service for Season 3 after a nail-biting hiatus. The anticipated 10-episode season picks back up with the Pogues enjoying some much-needed time off from life-threatening treasure hunts. However, their tropical vacation comes to an end as they're once again on the run after a new prize with even bigger threats.
Before binging the new season, fans can't help but wonder if this is the last we'll see of the Pogues. So, we did a little digging to learn all about the future of Outer Banks.
Will there be a Season 4 of Outer Banks?
HECK YES!
Netflix knows what they're doing. Ahead of the Season 3 premiere, the streaming service dropped the major announcement during a pre-premiere event rightfully dubbed "Poguelandia".
Fans immediately bombarded the comments section in excitement with messages like:

Co-creators, executive producers and showrunners Jonas Pate, Josh Pate and Shannon Burke revealed to Variety, "Seeing Poguelandia come to life was nothing short of spectacular." "The Pogues are enjoying an adventure of a lifetime and we now get to map out more twists and turns as the joyride continues into Season 4 of ‘Outer Banks.’ Thank you to Netflix, our cast and the amazing fans who helped to make this happen," they continued.
What will Season 4 be about?
Good question, and we truly wish we knew, but considering Season 3 just dropped, we're going to have to wait and see. The Season 3 finale will determine which direction the show will be taken for Season 4.
But, one thing is for sure when it comes to Outer Banks—there will always be a treasure hunt and there will always be trigger-happy enemies racing to claim the riches before the Pogues do.
Who will be cast in Season 4?
Fingers crossed that all of our favorite characters make it out of the third season alive. And that goes for the Kooks, too!
We can't imagine Outer Banks without Chase Stokes (John B), Madelyn Cline (Sarah), Rudy Pankow (JJ), Jonathan Daviss (Pope) and Madison Bailey (Kie), but following Sarah Cameron's near-death experience in Season 2, there's no telling what may happen.
And as much as we love the show's supporting characters like Rafe, Big John, Rafe, Cleo and more, we'll have a more clear picture of who will be returning following the Season 3 binge-watch.
When will Season 4 premiere on Netflix?
Although, Netflix has confirmed a new season of Outer Banks, no official release date has been set. But, here's what we know for sure: Filming for Season 3 began in February 2022 and ended 7 months later. So, considering the announcement was made before Season 3 even premiered, the next season of Outer Banks is most likely dropping in 2024.
