Optical illusion makes these anime illustrations look like computer graphics

The Japanese never fail to impress us with their artistic and quirky creations, such as these beautiful and life-like portraits, an unbelievably smooth and shiny ball made of aluminium foil, or even these creepy “snowmen”. Yet again, a Japanese manga artist who goes by the username @mina_naya on Twitter, took the Internet world aback with her incredibly 3D-looking anime illustrations.

In the tweet, @mina_naya posted some of her amazing creations, which are inspired by the characters from “Kantai Collection” and “Magical Girl Madoka Magica”.

The most interesting of all is probably this cut-out illustration with a magic circle on a tablet, summoning the character from “Is the Order a Rabbit?”. (Photo: Twitter @mina_naya)

For the skeptics who don’t believe these are really flat images, @mina_naya had provided photos of the same illustrations at a different angle.

Japanese netizens who saw her works were mostly impressed and praising her talent, with one saying these illustrations possess “amazing quality”. But there were also a fair number of them who expressed confusion as they were unable to differentiate which is a drawing and which is actually 3D.

We must confess, these anime illustrations are as good as computer graphics!
