Having been recently voted as the top manga of all time, One Piece is celebrating its 1000th chapter with cute illustrations of their characters. In a collaboration with Japanese graphic assets site Irasutoya, a total of 20 illustrations are available for download for free on Irasutoya (Japanese only).

Apart from featuring the protagonist Monkey D. Luffy, the 20 illustrations also see the appearance of the Straw Hat Crew, such as Zoro, Nami, Sanji, and Chopper, and the happy-looking antagonists Big Mom and Kaido.

In response to how Irasutoya turned serious scenes in the manga into cute illustrations, fans are refreshingly delighted: “There’s a really good vibe.” “It’s definitely Irasutoya’s art, but it’s also One Piece characters. It’s amazing.” “They look too cute to fight.”

In addition, regarding the strong enemy characters with a contrasting depiction, fans are amused:

“Gecko Moria’s eyes glitter like a Sanrio character!”

“(The supposedly evil) Doflamingo is actually laughing happily with excitement.”

“Hahaha the difference between the illustrated Arlong and the one on the manga cover.”

Although these One Piece illustrations are free to download for any use, Irasutoya has noted that the illustrations are approved by the publisher Shueisha and should be used without damaging the image of One Piece.
