With Halloween just a little over a month away, more spooky season-themed sneakers are surfacing and this time, it’s one of Nike’s most popular models that receives the holiday treatment.
The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 has been given a spider-inspired design for Halloween 2024. While much of Nike’s sneaker output for this year’s range has relied on color to tell the Halloween story, the Zoom Vomero 5 leans into a spidery theme similar to an upcoming Air Jordan 1 Low.
Through the use of textured materials and various adornments, these “Photon Dust/Black/Vapor Green/Black” sneakers don’t hold back their arachnid inspiration. The shoe’s toe box features fang graphics while an iridescent lace lock resembles spider eyes. Elsewhere, the sneaker’s black overlays are etched with web-like grooves.
But many of the “Halloween” Nike Zoom Vomero 5’s details won’t be noticed until the lights go out. Not only is the shoe equipped with reflective accents — a staple of the Y2K-era retro running shoe — but it also adds glow-in-the-dark portions to the midsole, tongue and midfoot cage.
Originally released in 2011, the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 was one of the brand’s premier running shoes at the time. Its retro run was first kicked off in 2018 via a collaboration with British fashion brand A-Cold-Wall, but it would take a few more years for the shoe to fully catch on with mainstream consumers. These days, it’s one of Nike’s most popular lifestyle sneakers.
Other Halloween sneakers readers should know about include the “X-ray” Kobe 5 Protro, matching “Halloween” Air Force 1 Low and Dunk Lows and signature shoes belonging to NBA stars Devin Booker and Ja Morant.
Like the aforementioned Air Jordan 1 Low, this “Halloween” Nike Zoom Vomero 5 will be released exclusively in grade school sizing. Its retail price is $110 and the sneaker will launch during October, but an exact date has not yet been confirmed. A full detailed look at the “Halloween” Nike Zoom Vomero 5 is included below.
