One Direction Fans Launch #ProjectHome To Release New Single

If you cast your minds back to last year, you may remember that those amazingly dedicated One Direction fans launched Project No Control, where they aimed to get an album track written by Louis Tomlinson to number one in the charts.

The project went ridiculously well with Louis himself tweeting his love for the fans as the single climbed the charts and got played on major radio stations across the world.

Eventually, the song was even added to One Direction’s ‘On The Road Again Tour’ tracklist.

Now, four months after the four boys embarked on their eighteen-month break, the fans are at it again, this time getting busy with #ProjectHome - a bid to fan-release a One Direction single that didn’t even make it onto their Made In The AM album.

Speaking about the project, organisers explained: “The purpose of this project is to promote the song 'Home’, which was released on the Perfect (EP) and was not part of the album. The song deserves way more attention and recognition than it’s gotten.

"Our goal is to bring more attention to the song. We are fan releasing the song on April 29th after a week of promo leading up to that day. We are continuing promo after the release to get the song to #1.”

And trust us when we say that if anyone can achieve this, it’s One Direction fans.

So, why was 'Home’ the single of choice to be fan-released? Well, the answer is actually pretty simple as the track resonates with many LGBTQ+ people within One Direction’s huge fandom as the song’s use of gender-neutral pronouns allowed more listeners to identify with the lyrics - making this song relatable to every fan regardless of their sexuality or gender identity.

Pretty brilliant stuff, right?

There are a whole load of ways that you can help to support #ProjectHome, including joining the arranged thunderclap, tweeting about the song alongside the hashtag #ProjectHome, and keeping an eye on all social media pages to know the latest special actions to take place during what has been affectionately dubbed #HomeMonth.
