Flying across the country can be stressful. But airlines often do their best to make the experience as positive as possible. And now, one airline is bringing back free in-flight meals, and we cannot clap loudly enough in elation. Delta Air Lines gets that flying, while amazing and wondrous, can also be a hassle. And they want to start making it an even more overall pleasant experience.

Free in-flight meals in economy aren’t exactly common. While various airlines offer complimentary snacks and beverages, they’re usually not substantial. And they often won’t fill you up on a really long flight.

But beginning in March, Delta Air Lines will give out complimentary meals on some of their longest flights.

If you are flying across the country from New York to Los Angeles or San Francisco, you are in luck! Those six hour-long flights will feel like a breeze as you munch on a mesquite-smoked turkey combo. Other lunch options include whole grain veggie wraps or a fruit and cheese plate. Not too shabby! If you are catching an early flight out, you can expect a honey maple sandwich or a breakfast medley.

Unfortunately, this new feature will not be available on all Delta Air Lines flights. So far, they are focusing on a select number of cross-country flights. But if they see that people are booking more and more with them, this feature could possibly extend to all of their business! Imagine knowing that no matter what flight you were on, a free meal would be waiting for you. That is the world we want to live in someday.

We’re very excited for these new in-flight meals. And our bellies are already thanking Delta for this sweet gesture.
