Obi-Wan Kenobi 'Star Wars Story' fan trailer released
Film editor and cinematographer Rich Williamson has debuted a fan trailer for an imagined Obi-Wan Kenobi "Star Wars Story" spin-off, which tells the story of the Jedi master after 2005's "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith".
The one-minute, 18-second clip for "Kenobi: A Star Wars Story Teaser" -- created by combining footage from "Star Wars" films and the Jesus film "Last Days in the Desert" -- portrays Kenobi living in exile on Tatooine, tortured by the role he played in the downfall of the Republic and watching over a young Luke Skywalker (via The Hollywood Reporter).
Commenting on his trailer, Williamson wrote in the comments section: "I'd love if Star Wars started doing different genres, especially with the 'Star Wars Story' films ... One film might be a heist movie, one a horror, this one more of a meditative Western. Shake it up."
His fan clip comes ahead of the debut of the first "Star Wars" spin-off film "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story", which is slated for release in December, with a young Han Solo film also in the works.
