The Nun will be scaring us again in "fun" sequel

Once again, The Nun will be stepping out of the shadows to scare the bejeezus out of everyone.

12 Apr - "The Nun" may not be the strongest entry in James Wan's "The Conjuring" horror franchise but its hefty box office collection is enough to warrant itself a sequel.

"I think there is an inevitability to another "Nun" movie," producer Peter Safran recently told Entertainment Weekly.

"We have a really fun storyline for that teed up, so I think that that's the next one that will be written."

The 2018 "The Nun", directed by Corin Hardy was released in cinemas last September. While the storyline didn't impress critics much, it was still able to scare up USD365.6 million worldwide on a USD22 million production budget.

It followed Demián Bichir as Father Burke and Taissa Farmiga as Sister Irene who are investigating a nun's death at an old, secluded monastery.

Since their characters survived, they could be expected to return for the sequel, with Bonnie Aarons back in makeup as Valak a.k.a. The Nun.

"The Conjuring" universe keeps expanding as more spinoffs and sequels to the spinoffs are added on. "The Curse of the Weeping Woman", a.k.a. "The Curse of La Llorona", is the latest spinoff (though this fact was kept under wrap until its SXSW screening), which is set to be released this month.

Meanwhile, "Annabelle Comes Home", the third movie from the "Annabelle" spinoff series, will be making itself at home in cinemas this June.
