Vanilla Luxury: Share with us a little about your background?
Adelyn Putri: With an accumulation of over a decade of fashion retail and merchandising experience, Adelyn Putri has evolved from a regional visual merchandiser for various high-street and international brands to become an independent designer of her own fashion label, NUDE FEMME which features a timeless collection of sensual and modern attire.
Vanilla Luxury: What made you decide to launch her label in Singapore?
Adelyn Putri: I have always loved fashion, and for the longest time had been toying with the idea of doing it as a career full-time, but what made me finally take action was a creative mural painting I did over Christmas 2015 in the bedroom of my friend’s daughter. It reignited my desire and passion to fulfil my childhood dream of becoming a designer and inspired me to begin researching extensively and visiting studios across the region. When I really started to focus my energy in that direction, I realized there was a strong calling for me pursue that dream in my home country.
Vanilla Luxury: Tell us more about your latest collection?
Adelyn Putri: The collection is mused by ancestry and cultural symbols of strength and bravery, curated for the ever-ethereal woman who is self-assured and passionate, yet feminine, soft and alluring. The collection takes visual cues from an eclectic meshing of strong prints with tender, gilded silhouettes in a unanimous delivery of creativity and delicate craftsmanship.
Vanilla Luxury: Are you planning just to retail online?
Adelyn Putri: Yes, this collection will be made available exclusively online. We will continue our interest in exciting pop-ups events both locally and around the region as we’ve previously participated in prestigious events like Singapore Yacht Show and Digital Fashion Week, Jakarta. We are currently in the planning phase for a few exciting events across the region and a couple of retail collaborations in Singapore in late 2018.
