Now you can collect Kakao Friends with this homeware line

South Korea’s beloved emoticon characters of messaging app KakaoTalk is now expanding into homeware - on top of the previously launched water bottles at 7-Eleven, you can now collect ceramic plates that are perfect for kidults.

The vividly-coloured plates come in six designs - five of which feature each of the five iconic characters of Kakao Friends, Ryan the mane-less lion, Neo the fashionista cat, Muzi the pseudo-bunny, Apeach the sentient peach, and Tube the timid duck. The sixth design is a playfully bright yellow plate with them altogether.

How to redeem

For every S$5 spent, 7-Eleven shoppers earn a stamp that can be used to eventually redeem a randomly packed ceramic plate. The plate can be redeemed for free with 20 stamps. Otherwise, with five stamps, top-up just S$7.90 to qualify for redemption.

Each customer will receive a pack that is randomly selected and customers will not be able to exchange for a different design.

Stamps will be issued for eight weeks from now through 22 December, while redemption is available from now through 29 December.

Transactions involving items such as cigarettes, parking coupons, bill payments and top-up services, lottery sales, pre-orders, food delivery app orders, and figurine redemptions with a cash top-up do not qualify for stamp collection.
