Ever dreamed about living in castle? Sleeping in a four poster bed, with a crackling fire and wandering around the grand halls, imagining yourself as a great empress? Yep, us too. Well now that dream could be a reality as the palace from Netflix's The Empress is available to stay at.

Weissenstein Palace, where much of The Empress was filmed, is opening its grand palace doors for visitors to stay. Imagine? Just living the life of Sisi?

From 5pm GMT on 2nd November you'll be able to book a stay at the palace for £163 on Airbnb. There are two individual bookings available - June 19th and June 20th 2023, with each stay accommodating up to two people.

The palace is located in Bavaria, Germany and guests will be led through the grand hallway and into their own private wing.

As part of the stay, guests will receive a private tour of the palace and see parts which are usually closed off to the public. Dinner and breakfast in the ornate 'shell room' are also included within the stay.

The suite is usually reserved for the Schönborn family, however Countess Benedicta von Schönborn-Wiesentheid says she decided to open up their family home to give an insight into the life of Empress Elizabeth aka Sisi.

She said: "Empress Elizabeth, fondly nicknamed Sisi, is an all-time favourite historical figure: a sportswoman, fashion icon, traveller, poet and tragic heroine who fell to an assassin’s blade. As she was born in Bavaria, it’s both exciting and fitting to bring this legendary woman home and share a little glimpse into her world.”

Empress Elizabeth's life has become the subject of Netflix's latest period drama The Empress. The series is a dramatisation of the real life of Elizabeth 'Sisi' who fell in love with Emperor Franz Joseph, who was intended to marry Elizabeth's older sister Helene.

The six part series is in German and has captured viewers across the world, with many wondering if there is going to be second season.
