During an appearance on the Big Boys Neighborhood radio show this morning, Kim Kardashian said she finally had to have a conversation with her daughter North about why she's famous, and she dodged the question as hard as someone could possibly dodge it.

"[She said] 'Mom, why are you famous?'" Kim said. "Oh... okay, I'm gonna have to explain this. And I'm like, 'We have a TV show. We have a TV show.' And she was like 'Oh, okay.' And that was the first time when she was like 'Oh.'"

The real answer, obviously, is a sex tape, but a 5-year-old doesn't need to know that. Plus, since that infamous Ray J home movie catapulted Kim into the spotlight, she's become reality TV star, an author, a beauty mogul, and even had a very brief career as a singer (lol, remember this?).

So yeah, while technically the sex tape is the reason Kim's now one of the most famous women on the planet, she's also got a lot of other stuff going on. A lot of other stuff that's more appropriate to tell her children about.

Kim's said in the past that the tape is her biggest regret in life, despite the fact that it put her in the public eye.

“You know, I think that’s how I was definitely introduced to the world,” she told Oprah in 2012. “It was a negative way, so I felt like I really had to work 10 times harder to get people to see the real me. I have to live with the choices I have made. And I can’t dwell on it.”
