Appropriately enough, Newsroom alum Grace Gummer guest-stars as the the would-be novelist/playwright who confronts her boss (Show Me a Hero‘s Jim Belushi) when he refuses her a byline. This in turn prompts a group of female newsroom researchers to rally against sexism in hopes of one day being published in a male-dominated industry.

The forthcoming series, which is set in 1969, is inspired by the landmark sexual discrimination cases chronicled in Lynn Povich’s book of the same name. The cast also includes Genevieve Angelson (Backstrom), Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect), Erin Darke (We Need to Talk About Kevin), Chris Diamantopoulos (Silicon Valley), Hunter Parrish (Weeds) and Joy Bryant (Parenthood).
