Nora Danish is worried over being praised too much
31 Jan - Nora Danish recently admitted that she felt a little unease over being called an "exemplary artiste" since she decided to change for the better.
The 42-year-old actress, who began wearing hijab last year, said that she has started to feel the pressure of such expectation that came not just from fans but also friends around her who have started calling her "ustazah".
"I am not hurt by that, but sometimes they would forgive my little mistakes because I am supposedly this noble person. But the truth is, I am not. Everybody makes mistakes, even religious teachers," she said.
Nora said that she knew that one day she would be heavily tested and that she hopes that she would be ready for it.
At the same time, the actress admitted that she has reduced her acting work in order to attend religious classes, saying that she now attends four to five classes per week.
"I am trying my best. I believe that God is good to me," she added.
She has also started to try and memorise verses of the Quran, saying that she is doing her best to memorise the "Al-Mulk".
"I am such a forgetful person. But after memorising the first five verses, I cried and prayed that Allah would strengthen my heart. Praise be to God, after the 10th verse, everything became easier," she added.
