Heads up, retro phone fans! The frequently reminisced-about Nokia 3310 will be returning to the Singapore market via authorised dealers from October. It will come with 3G connectivity and will include the beloved game, “Snake”.

Finnish company HMD Global has even given the phone a facelift. One of its cosmetic changes allow users to choose from its fresh new range of colours – yellow, warm red, azure blue and charcoal.

The phone is designed with a matte finish and new silver keypads that provide more spacing between the buttons, “letting you dial, text and tweet more comfortably”, HMD said in a press release on Thursday (28 September). The user interface also allows users to change icon colours and positions of their favourite functions.

“Our reimagining of the Nokia 3310 has been a global and cultural phenomenon. In a world dominated by smartphones, the mix of nostalgia and a beautiful phone that just keeps going has captured people’s imagination,” said chief product officer Juho Sarvikas. “Our fans around the world have been asking for this iconic phone to support 3G. Fans asked, we listened, and today welcome the Nokia 3310 3G.”

The phone’s 3G connection offers up to six hours of talk time and up to 27 days of standby time.
