No vigil to be held for the late Savio Tsang
17 Nov – Savio Tsang's family will not be holding a vigil for the late actor following his recent passing - respecting his last wish to simplify the matters concerning his funeral.
As reported on Mingpao, Savio's sister SaSa, who spoke about the actor's passing recently, stated that the actor's last wish prior to his death was for the family not to set up such a service, so not to trouble others with noise and commotion.
"Friends who knew him would know that he had always disliked socialising and making ruckus. He preferred tranquillity, and hopes that everybody will understand. If everybody misses him, you can pray for him and turn that feeling into a powerful love. He had always loved helping taking care of stray animals, so hopefully we can continue his effort," she said.
SaSa also thanked the "angels" who helped them until Savio's last breath, from the medical team who took care of the actor, to the celebrities who aided him and came to see him. This included Louis Koo, Joe Tay and his wife, as well as Alice Chan, and Jimmy Au.
Savio passed away on 12 November, after battling lung cancer for a year. His last appearance was last year's "Cantopop at 50" and TVB series, "Finding Her Voice".
He was 58.
