We know nurses stand on their feet a lot, but did you know many walk four to five miles and sit for less than an hour during a 12-hour shift? These are some of the insights Nike designers gleaned when they spoke with health-care workers at OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon.

Taking this info into consideration, the Nike Zoom Pulse—designed specifically for medical workers—was born. The shoes are crafted to be comfortable for hours on end while being able to make the rapid movements required during an emergency.

The result is almost like a cross between a clog and a sneaker, with a full rubber outsole that offers great traction, a springy midsole, and a super-snug padded heel cup.

The shoes are laceless, with pull tabs so they’re easy to get on and off. And thanks to a water-resistant upper, they’re a snap to clean.

The unisex shoes come in black/teal and gray/pink/gold. They’re so comfortable, and so stylish, that we think you just might be seeing them on people other than health-care workers (hint: us!).
