The Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Paris’ Sold for $51,950 on StockX in 2020 — but That’s Not the Only Dunk Bringing in Big Money

The Nike SB Dunk Low broke StockX resale records in July, and much of the success is due to celebrity influence and the coveted Grateful Dead collaborations.

The “stock market of things” shared data for July 2020, which revealed the Nike SB Dunk Low had an average resale price of more than $800 during the month — a 300% year-over-year price increase.

StockX also stated that sales in terms of gross merchandise value have increased six-times year-over-year, and since January has more than doubled. Also, 99% of Nike SB Dunks have increased in resale value, according to StockX, and are reselling in record volume.

And people aren’t just looking for one version of the shoe. StockX said 28 different iterations of the shoe have sold for $1,000 or more on the platform this year including the Nike Dunk SB Low “Paris,” which sold for $51,950 — the sneaker with the highest price tag in StockX history.

The secondary marketplace leader said sales have been helped greatly by celebs wearing them including Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner.

For instance, there were 10 sales of the Nike SB Dunk Low “Newcastle” within three hours of Scott sharing a photo on July 30 via Instagram in the look, StockX revealed, with prices of the shoe climbing 40%. As for Jenner, StockX said prices of Nike SB Dunks climb anywhere from 30% to 50%.

The success of the Nike SB Dunk Low has also been fueled by Grateful Dead resale prices.

Last month, three colorways of the shoes — orange, green and yellow — dropped with a $110 retail price tag, selling out almost instantly.

Since then, StockX said more than 100 pairs of the orange look have sold on the platform with an average price of $3,500; the green look has an average resale price of $1,400 and more than 1,200 pairs have sold; and the yellow colorway is moving for an average of $1,200 and more than 1,500 pairs have resold.
