Nike launches PhantomVSN boot line with Paris Saint-Germain players

The Nike PhantomVSN boot range was unveiled in Singapore on Thursday (26 July), with French football club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star Marco Verratti fronting the launch. The PhantomVSN improves upon traditional lacing with the Ghost Lace system, which provides a customised fit for each player. It also possesses an internal “Quadfit” mesh bootie which ensures the boots retain their shape and do not overstretch while in use. "It’s an innovative product. It’s made very carefully with lots of work without the lacing," said Verratti, who is in Singapore to compete in the International Champions Cup. "You’ll feel that your foot is really tight, but not too tight inside the shoes." The midfielder also said he is “very confident” that PSG can win the Champions League in the upcoming season, and that he “would have never believed” that legendary Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon – who is set to make his debut for PSG in Singapore during the cup tournament – would play in the same club as him. Verratti, along with PSG players Christopher Nkunku and Maxwell Andrade, as well as assistant coach Zoumana Camara, participated in a friendly match with members of the media at the end of the boot launch. PSG also recently opened its Asia Pacific office in Singapore on Friday (27 July). “We are delighted to open our first international office on the Asian continent and look forward to bringing the Club closer to our fans,” said PSG chairman and CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi. PSG is currently hosting a week-long series of activities in Singapore from Wednesday (25 July), which include setting up fan zones at the Singapore Sports Hub, and training camps focusing on youth and coaching development.
