Wang Leehom is going to be a father
19 May – Taiwanese singer-songwriter Wang Leehom recently revealed that his wife Lee Jinglei is currently pregnant and that he will soon become a father.
As reported on ECNS, the good news was revealed at an after-party celebrating the success of his concert in Xi'an, Shaanxi on 18 May.
The singer, who turned 38 recently expressed, "I would like to share this good news with everyone. From now on, it's one plus one equals three for us."
Thanking his wife for the "best birthday gift ever", Wang also said that he has already given his unborn child a nickname, Wang Yi.
"My fans call me Wang Er ("er" meaning "two"), so I decided to call my baby "Wang Yi" (meaning "one")," said Leehom while jokingly adding that the character "Yi" is easy to spell as it has only one stroke.
This will be the first child for Wang Leehom and his wife, whom he married in November last year shortly after surprising his fans with the announcement that they have been dating.
