Syahrini's hairdo the object of a joke
1 Dec – Not everybody is as excited as Indonesian singer, Syahrini, when it comes to her enthusiastic approach towards welcoming international celebrities. And her kissing footballer David Beckham seemed to have rubbed others the wrong way.
According to KapanLagi website, this includes other Indonesian stars like Chelsea Olivia who thinks that the act is embarrassing.
The 19 year-old "Bukan Bintang Biasa" actress Tweeted, "It's embarrassing...," referring to Syahrini's confession about how Beckham made her feel corny and excited.
Other celebrities, like 34 year-old activist, Wanda Hamidah, also commented the meeting between Syahrini and Beckham, who was there for a friendly competition with the Indonesian football team, saying jokingly, "A lot of girls are jealous of Syahrini. I'm cool as it is."
Even Syahrini's hairdo became the butt of a joke, and her special do were teased as "jambul khatulistiwa" (the Equator Tuft). Even Nidji's vocalist, Giring, took a shot, saying, "Syahrini is a good singer. And she knows how to make a catchy news and publicity. My regards for your 'jambul khatulistiwa''.
This is not the first time the "Aku Tak Biasa" singer was criticised for her unbecoming behaviour in front of international stars. The former lover of composer, Anang, was also criticised earlier in September when she kissed South Korean star, Hyun Bin during the actor's military visit to Indonesia.
