Francis Ford Coppola to head Marrakech International Film Festival Jury

Award-winning director Francis Ford Coppola has been selected to preside over the jury of the Marrakech International Film Festival 2015.

The American movie maestro joins a group that includes Isabelle Huppert and Martin Scorsese in taking up the position, Variety reports.

"The Kingdom of Morocco is among my most favorite places on earth, and thus the Marrakech International Film Festival is a joy to attend," the publication reports him as saying.

As the director of iconic films such as "The Godfather" trilogy and "Apocalypse Now," Coppola has achieved cult status within the film industry.

The Marrakech International Film Festival will be held in December.
