Ethan Ruan's manager not leaving

20 May – It was rumoured that Ethan Ruan's manager, Lee Lieh, is having second thoughts and may be withdrawing from her partnership with the actor in their new artiste management company.

Groove Asia reported that sources recently disclosed that Lee Lieh has not been happy with Ethan lately, as the actor has reportedly showed unethical behaviour continually.

It was reported that the actor kept his schedule and whereabouts a secret from his manager, and ignored her when she recommended job offers. Ethan was also reported to have demanded excessive fees while liaising for commercials on his own, resulted in Lee Lieh considering leaving the company.

However, upon hearing these claims, Lee Lieh, who is currently in Venice, denied that she has fallen out with Ethan and said, "All these rumours are rubbish. Tian Liang is an investment of my company, not my personal investment. I am still Ethan's manager."

Lee Lieh also clarified that she discusses Ethan's schedule with his assistant and not with the actor directly, stating that it is impossible for any of the allegations to happen.

In March, Ethan Ruan officially announced the formation of his new artiste management company, Tian Liang, which is a collaboration with Taiwanese director Doze Niu and Taiwan filmmaker-manager Lee Lieh.

The trio became close friends after working together on the hit movie "Monga", the movie that helped Ethan win his first Best Actor trophy at the Golden Horse Awards.
