Elaine Ng: No beauty pageant for Etta!

3 Sep - While most mothers would sing praises for their daughters, former Miss Asia Elaine Ng has no qualms admitting that her daughter is no looker.

According to Wenweipo News, the TV personality recently attended Candy Yuen's DBC radio show and expressed her thoughts about the recent Miss Hong Kong 2015 competition, which crowned Cambridge Law Graduate and straight-A student, Louisa Mak.

A pageant winner herself, Elaine stated, "I do feel that beauty pageants are getting more and more challenging. We need to have all kinds of talent to attract people's attention."

As to whether daughter Etta will follow her footsteps and join a beauty pageant, Etta stated that her daughter does not possess a typical pageant girl look.

"I told her that since she is not pretty enough, she should work harder at school. But then again, if she was a good-looking girl, I would be worried all the time!" said Elaine.

When asked if Etta would be hurt by her words, Elaine joked, "That's why I enrolled her in an international school. She doesn't read Chinese newspapers."
