Newly-renovated BK Eating House at Tampines has mala, western food & CKT till late

Less than 2 months ago, I wrote about the opening of a newly-renovated coffeeshop at Tampines Street 81. Happening just 3 blocks away, yet another kopitiam, BK Eating House at Block 824 officially reopened on 2 Jun 2023. The people living in the area are such a lucky bunch!

The newly-opened coffeeshop was previously under different management. It now boasts a total of 12 stalls, 3 stalls of which operate till late: Mala Hot Pot, Tenderbest 可爱鸡 and Eat Bar.

Heng Long Teochew Porridge (opening 5 Jun 2023) will also be available 24-hours (supper enthusiasts, take note).

Avid fans of Koh Brother Pig’s Organ Soup at Tiong Bahru Food Centre no longer have to travel from the east to the west. The Michelin Bib Gourmand stall will sell their signatures like the must-try Pig’s Organ Soup (S$4.80/S$6.80), Braised Pig Trotters (S$6) and Braised Big Intestine (S$5).

Tian Mi Mi 甜咪咪 sells a mixture of traditional and modern bowls of dessert. Order the Golden Ayu Bowl (S$3.80), Summer Mango Bowl (S$6.90) or Strawberry Pocky Bowl (S$6.90) to combat Singapore’s ridiculously hot temperatures.

If you’re bringing grandma along for lunch, she can enjoy a warm bowl of Black Sesame Paste (S$2.30) or Tau Suan (S$1.80).

2 little birdies have told me that they’ve tried the Fried Char Kway Teow (S$5/S$7) and it’s quite solid; I guess I’ve got to try it for myself, then.

Its next-door neighbour, Soon Soon Prawn Noodle caters only to the breakfast and early lunch crowd. Enjoy a bowl of Dry Prawn Noodle (S$6) or Pork Ribs Noodle (S$7); be sure to arrive early to avoid disappointment!

There’s also Lao Wang Chicken Rice which sells kampong chickenGimme Face 给面子, Sin Lin Seafood and 21 Old Airport Wanton Noodle.

I guess I’ll head over to BK Eating House next weekend for dinner— see you guys there!
