Rosewood Hotels & Resorts to launch four new hotels, including one in Miyakojima, Japan
Rosewood Hotels & Resorts is unveiling four exciting additions to its global portfolio in 2024, each inspired by Rosewood’s A Sense of Place philosophy to authentically embody and celebrate the local culture and spirit of a destination. These openings include Rosewood Amsterdam, Rosewood Schloss Fuschl, Rosewood Miyakojima and Rosewood Doha.
Rosewood Miyakojima
With a stunning seascape as a backdrop, Rosewood Miyakojima’s 55-villa accommodations will feature private pools, landscaped gardens and unobstructed sea views with its architecture and interiors seamlessly designed to immerse guests in the hotel’s natural surroundings.
The hotel features four restaurants and bars with relaxed beachfront concepts showcasing fresh seafood, prized island-raised beef, locally distilled spirits and craft beer, with on-site recreation including Rosewood Explorer’s Club, Rosewood’s programme for younger guests designed to inspire creativity and encourage adventure, discovery and social responsibility through unique experiences attuned to the destination; and Asaya, with treatment rooms set amid private gardens, indoor and outdoor hydrotherapy facilities and services influenced by local healing traditions.
Beyond the resort, guests will discover an abundance of picturesque sites such as the Higashi-Hennazaki Cape lighthouse and the renowned Yonaha Maehama, regularly ranked as Japan’s best beach.
Rosewood Amsterdam
Housed in the former Palace of Justice, Rosewood Amsterdam will open in 2024 as Rosewood’s first property in the Netherlands. Located along the UNESCO World Heritage listed Amsterdam Canal District, Rosewood Amsterdam will overlook the Prinsengracht (the Prince’s Canal) and will be situated near the city’s finest attractions including the museum district, the high-end shopping district on P.C. Hooftstraat and the hip De Pijp neighbourhood.
With an intuitive design which pays homage to the signature spirit of the building and city, Rosewood Amsterdam will offer 134 guest rooms and suites with many boasting spectacular views across the two adjoining canals, quiet internal courtyards, and iconic townhouse rooftops. On-site amenities will include Rosewood's integrative well-being concept Asaya Spa, three restaurants and bars, a state-of-the-art fitness centre, an indoor swimming pool and a 3,000 square-foot ballroom.
Rosewood Doha
Housed in two striking towers inspired by the coral reefs surrounding Qatar, Rosewood Doha and Rosewood Residences Doha will consist of an ultra-luxury hotel with 155 guestrooms and suites, 162 serviced apartments for longer-term stays and 276 residences available for rent.

Rosewood Schloss Fuschl
The legendary Hotel Schloss Fuschl will mark Rosewood Hotels & Resorts’ second property in Austria when it reopens as Rosewood Schloss Fuschl in 2024. Dior's Haute Couture SS24 collection highlights moiré; show attended by stars like Han So-hee, Rihanna and more
Like a bewitching Ariadne's thread, the notion of "aura" infuses the entire Dior haute couture spring-summer 2024 collection dreamed up by Maria Grazia Chiuri. Exploring the plural beauty of textiles, the Creative Director has initiated a captivating, inventive dialogue with Isabella Ducrot, who conceived the show's scenography entitled Big Aura: twenty-three disproportionate silhouettes are arranged on a grid of irregular black lines recalling warp and weft.
The star of the collection is the refined moiré, a silk fabric pattern that's been subjected to heatpress to give it that rippled pattern and appearance. It was first thought up by Monsieur Dior for autumn-winter 1952. The creations in this collection form an architectural elegance: coats with imposing collars, wide skirts revealing exaggerated cut-outs, layering, pants and jackets. Certain garments in velvet magnify the allure and move fluidly, while a sumptuous feather cape sits upon a dress in embroidered double organza.
Among the stars that attended the show were Korean actress Han So-hee, Heart Evangelista, comedian Ali Wong, Rihanna, and Gossip Girl actress Kelly Rutherford.

Chanel takes their iconic jewel-button into the world of ballet and dance for Haute Couture SS24
Instantly recognisable as a Chanel code, the button eases the opening and closing of a garment. Thanks to buttons, women could rid themselves of everything that had prevented them from moving freely. Gabrielle Chanel treated buttons with the utmost respect. Like a jewel, it adds a touch of daring and sparkle to the unique allure of which she was both theorist and artisan.
A symbol of emancipation, Virginie Viard takes this jewel-button into the world of ballet and dance. Here, fashion, music, theatre and painting come together as physical poetry and, touched by grace or wonderment, the performers briefly escape the laws of nature. Beyond the softness of this light and suspended world, the Spring-Summer 2024 Haute Couture collection evokes the great names of dance, from whom it borrows their extraordinary style and affirmation of a triumphant body.
I often think about dance, it's an important theme at Chanel. The House is close to its institutions, to its choreographers and dancers, and we create costumes for the ballet. I have tried to bring together the power and finesse of bodies and clothes in a very ethereal collection, composed of tulle, ruffles, pleats and lace.Virginie Viard
Thus unfolds a landscape of transparent short straight skirts, long dresses, jumpsuits and little capes embellished with embroideries depicting draperies, little bows, illusion tulle pockets, lace belts, sequins, braids and little flowers. Masculine figures and the beauty of the body give rise to a very feminine collection, worn over white ballet leotards and tights. In a year marked by the vitality of the links that unite CHANEL and dance, a century after Gabrielle Chanel's first designs for ballet, the pink and white aquarelle-dominated collection owes its touches of vivid colour to the Ballets Russes of Léon Bakst and Sergei Diaghilev. Down jackets in tulle, hoods, the Artistic Director also injects references to contemporary culture, with heels, for added allure.
At the invitation of Virginie Viard, Kendrick Lamar, Dave Free and Mike Carson designed a set that recalls the symbols of Haute Couture, just like the film The Button, serviced by pgLang, written and directed by Dave Free and scored by Kendrick Lamar, with Anna Mouglalis, Naomi Campbell, and Margaret Qualley in the lead role.

Hao Food SG Launches New White Rabbit Candy Ice Cream Cone at Lou Shang
One of the most distinctive features of the Chinese New Year is the White Rabbit candy. In the past few years, the brand has evolved to include a wide range of paraphernalia. For CNY this year, the brand launches the new ice cream cone, adding a subtle element of sea salt and cheese to the classic milky taste of White Rabbit creamy candy – creating an addictive taste that’s both familiar yet unexpected.

The supporting star of the meal is ‘Good Luck to You’, a dish featuring a savoury bak kwa cream cheese foam topped with Hokkaido scallop ceviche, bak kwa bits, and dehydrated blue pea crisp, all held together by a sago cracker. The perfect savoury bar snack, this appetiser pairs perfectly between bites of the ice cream cone!
After your meal, unwind with a glass of ‘Colourful Rabbit’, a unique cocktail blend of sake, white cacao liqueur, greek yoghurt, blue curaçao and mixed berry shrub. With grenadine syrup at the base, followed by condensed milk and milk, the blue pea cream is then gently layered on and topped off with chocolate shavings – the perfect pairing for any meal!
