Fancy staying in a room inspired by first-class air travel? A new hotel opening in Singapore will let you do just that, incorporating the theme of luxury airline travel into compact rooms that are referred to as ‘cabins’.

Boasting self check-in and check-out, together with a 24/7 “Mission Control” for assistance, YOTEL Singapore will be the first of its brand in Asia.

Located along Orchard Road, YOTEL Singapore is open for bookings for stays from 1 Nov and will feature seven different types of ‘cabins’ – Premium Queen, Premium Queen View, Premium Queen with 1 Bunk, Premium Queen view with 1 Bunk, Premium Queen View Deck, First King Deck and the VIP View Suite.

The rooms also feature the SmartBed, which can convert from queen-sized beds into couches with the touch of a button, as well as mood lighting and a “Technowall” that houses a bluetooth-enabled smart TV. There will be 610 ‘cabins’ in total, as well as a gym, pool, club lounge, and restaurant and bar within the hotel.

The YOTEL chain is inspired by a combination of Japanese capsule hotels and British Airways’ first-class lounges. It is part of the UK-based YO! company, and is known for its technological innovation, such as the YOBOT, a robotic luggage concierge in YOTEL’s New York hotel.
