The Tension Is Mountain in This Dread-Inducing New Clip From 'Everest'

This is the moment when things go from bad to worse. This exclusive clip from the upcoming Everest dramatizes what a real group of ill-fated mountaineers experienced back in 1996 on one of the deadliest days in the mountain’s documented history.

Here we see Jason Clarke as expedition leader, New Zealander Rob Hall, desperately making his incapacitated climbing mate Doug Hansen (John Hawkes) repel down the planet’s highest mountain as an enormous black cloud approaches. Alas, they can’t beat nature’s wrath.

For those unfamiliar with the story, steer clear of Wikipedia if you want the harrowing ending to remain a surprise when Everest comes out in theaters Sept. 25.
