Neelofa breaks silence on sister Ameera Khan's PDA controversy

21 Feb - Neelofa has dismissed the notion that she and her family are mum about sister Ameera Khan, who has rubbed netizens the wrong way with her apparent public display of affection (PDA) with boyfriend Jefri Nichol.

The former actress, who was asked about Ameera's recent social media posts, especially the clip showing her Indonesian beau kissing her cheek, stated that she has already done her duty as a sister.

"It's not appropriate for me to share this with people and I don't want to even make any comments about this. But I just want you to know that as a sister, I have done my part. And I know what I should do," she said, during her appearance at The Muslim World Women's Summit held at the WTC.

Neelofa added, "I think what we [as a family] said to Ameera need not be revealed to the public."

The entrepreneur also asked everybody to not attack Ameera and instead pray for only good things.

"Whether you like it or not, please pray only good things. Fate belongs to Allah. Us as siblings just want the best for everybody," she said.

Ameera has been the subject of criticisms in recent weeks since she started dating the Indonesian actor. Many commented that the model has been behaving improperly with Jefri and tainting the good name of her niqab-wearing sister and her said sister's Islamic preacher husband.
