'NCIS' star Miguel Ferrer dies at 61

"NCIS: Los Angeles" and "Crossing Jordan" star Miguel Ferrer died Thursday at the age of 61 of throat cancer.

In addition to appearing on seven seasons of NCIS, the actor's film credits include "RoboCop," "Iron Man 3" and he will be next seen in Showtime's reboot of "Twin Peaks," where he will reprise his role as FBI pathologist Albert Rosenfield.

Ferrer appeared in the original TV series.

The actor also lent his voice to animated projects including "Mulan," and the "Halo 3" video game.
